History

DEEP Arts is a professional not for profit theatre organization originally founded in 1991 as Rochester Children’s Theatre (RCT). Since the inception of the organization, RCT partnered with the pillars of Rochester’s arts organizations; their first six seasons in residence at Rochester’s Memorial Art Gallery, and their second six seasons at The School of the Arts. While in residence at Nazareth College Arts Center between 2003 and 2014, the organization reached student and family audiences of over 40,000 annually and offered a wide range of well received and supported educational programming. In FY15, RCT transitioned to DEEP Arts in its effort to rebrand and refocus the organization. Program activities will include the development of new work, the presentation of new, contemporary and traditional theatre works and the delivery of education and outreach programming.
